Learn the best way to use ON camera flash. These are really the best tips that I can give you. When using ON camera flash bouncing the light is really some of the best light you can get. What you need to have is a flash head or speedlight that has a rotating adjustable head. I think most of them do today. Instead of pointing the flash directly at your subject, point the flash towards the ceiling, wall, directly behind you off of the wall, or even a reflector if you have one.
Shooting against the wall turns a regular light into a huge softbox. One of the dangers or cons is that light spills everywhere, so if you need to control the light, this might not be a good option for you. Another con is that you can't be to far away from the wall because you will need more power. Same with the ceiling. High ceilings tend not to work.
